Phyllis Anderson joined Express Scripts in January 2014 and is responsible for the company’s marketing and corporate communications functions, including brand development, creative services, digital strategy, division marketing and public relations. She drives awareness and utilization of the company’s pharmacy benefit solutions and stewards the Express Scripts brand.
Her extensive, multi-industry background encompasses strong consumer and business marketing perspectives. Phyllis most recently served insurer Humana as Vice President of Marketing; and previously was Vice President, Strategic Initiatives for Bank of America. In earlier positions at Nabisco Brands Inc. and the Pillsbury Company, she focused on direct-to-consumer marketing.
Her achievements have been recognized on lists of distinction in Diversity Journal, Ebony Magazine and Fortune Magazine. Phyllis is a Board Member for The Executive Leadership Council, the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, and the Center of Creative Arts (COCA), St. Louis’ largest multidisciplinary arts institution. She previously was Chairman of the Board for the Louisville Urban League, and a trustee of Presentation Academy. Phyllis holds an MBA in marketing from Clark Atlanta University’s Graduate School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Spelman College. She gained Executive Education at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
