Ted Colbert is Chief Information Officer of The BoeingCompany and senior vice president of Information &Analytics. Colbert is a member of the Boeing ExecutiveCouncil and is responsible for the IT strategy, operations,processes and more than 6,500 IT and analyticsemployees of the world’s largest aerospace company.
Colbert is responsible for overseeing all aspects ofinformation technology, information security, dataand analytics across the global reach of the companyand for supporting the growth of Boeing’s business bypartnering with the company’s business units on ITand analytics related revenue generating programs.
Colbert became CIO in 2013. In his previous role as vicepresident of Information Technology Infrastructure,Colbert was responsible for developing and maintainingIT solutions inclusive of network, computing,server, storage, collaboration and infrastructure acrossthe entire Boeing enterprise. He was named to thisposition in December 2011.
Previously, Colbert was vice president of IT BusinessSystems, where he was responsible for developingand maintaining the computing application systemsthat support Boeing Finance, Human Resources,Corporate, Commercial Capital Business Units as wellas the company’s internal systems. He was named tothis position in September 2010.
Colbert joined Boeing in 2009 as director of EnterpriseNetwork Services, which provides the connectivityinfrastructure enabling all internal Boeing applicationsand Line of Service delivery systems to integrate, communicate, and pass data from point to pointthroughout the company and beyond.
Colbert spent 2.5 years at Citigroup as a senior vicepresident of Enterprise Architecture based in the NewYork metro area. At Citigroup, he held positions focusedon Enterprise Architecture and Strategy & Planning inthe Global Architecture & Engineering organization. Hismajor contributions at Citi were focused on driving ITprograms to improve technology strategy, workslatemanagement & prioritization, and delivery lifecycleprocesses across IT engineering and operations. He ledmajor Enterprise efforts to drive common architectureacross the Global Consumer organization.
Before joining Citigroup, Colbert spent 11 years withFord Motor Company’s Information Technologyorganization. During his tenure with Ford, he spentthree years on an international assignment in theUnited Kingdom. He held various roles of increasingresponsibility in the areas of Program Management,Infrastructure Engineering & Operations, ApplicationDevelopment / Portfolio Management, and ProcessReengineering. In addition, he championed and ledseveral campus recruiting, career development, andcommunity service projects.
Colbert completed the Dual Degree EngineeringProgram at the Georgia Institute of Technology andMorehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia with degreesin Industrial and Systems Engineering and InterdisciplinaryScience. Colbert also serves as a memberof the Board of Directors for The Thurgood MarshallCollege Fund and Insitu Inc.
