At PwC, Chris Simmons achieved numerous distinctions across a number of functional arenas, including: only African-American elected to the firm’s Governing Board since the merger creating PwC in 1998; Chair, U.S. Partner Admissions Committee; Managing Partner in charge of the Washington DC/VA/MD region; Partner-in-Charge, U.S. Corporate Development (mergers & acquisitions); President, PwC Charitable Foundation; and U.S. Chief Diversity Officer, reporting to the CEO. As diversity leader, Chris led a bold campaign that involved candid and open discussions about race, and also highlighted previously unaddressed GLBT and Asian diversity issues.
Currently, as CEO of Moments LLC, he coaches executives on getting promoted; speaks to corporate audiences on managing teams for greater productivity, client relations/sales growth strategies, and innovative diversity management approaches; and coaches leaders and young executives- minority and majority group- on overcoming diversity challenges. He is an annual lecturer at the Stanford Advanced Leadership Program for Asian Executives. He is the Membership Selection Committee Co-Chair of ELC, and former board chair of the Association of Latino Professionals (he’s not Latino). Chris earned undergraduate and MBA degrees from Harvard University. He is a native of Memphis, Tennessee, and has traveled to over 50 countries.
